Minister hands over New Pujehun Office Complex
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Local Government and Rural Development, Dauda Kamara, has officially handed over the newly constructed office complex for Pujehun District Council to the Acting Chairman of the Council, David Dauda Faundu.

Speaking at the ceremony last Thursday, the Minister expressed government’s solidarity with the people of Pujehun, and called on the council to fully support government’s development agenda generally and the decentralisation programme in particular.
The Minister told the audience at the new council hall that apart from ensuring the success of the decentralisation programme, government is also making successful interventions in other areas such as education, health and agriculture.
The Minister also called for sustained political tolerance in the District and the country as a whole. He cautioned the people of Pujehun to do all they could to continue to receive the confidence of donors, noting that the development interventions of the Decentralisation Secretariat in Sierra Leone have been highly satisfactory over the years.
Various speakers at the ceremony mentioned the need for users of the new office complex to ensure that the building is well looked after.
Giving an overview of the project, the Director of the Decentralisation Secretariat, Alhassan Kanu, said he was extremely happy that yet another Local Council building had been completed. He expressed gratitude to the contractors, Nationwide Logistics Supplies Construction Company, for what he called a very good job.
Alhassan Kanu said that by the end of 2010, all 19 local councils would have been equipped with new offices.
Paramount Chief Alimamy Jaya Kaikai who gave the vote of thanks, called on the people of Pujehun to be united and to support the development aspirations of the government.
