The Minister also handed over the Bill of quantities which contains the specifications of the proposed building to the Council officials and performed the turning of the sod ceremony signalling the formal commencement of construction work.
Thursday’s handing over of site and turning of the sod ceremony in Kambia will be replicated in Bo District, Kenema District, Bombali District, Kono District & Freetown City Councils over a five-day period.
These councils constitute the last batch of councils to benefit from the capacity building intervention of the Decentralisation Secretariat which aims at providing councils the opportunity of working in a congenial atmosphere.
Already, Bo City, Makeni City, Kenema City, Port Loko District and Western Area Rural District Councils have all received new offices through the intervention of the Decentralisation Secretariat.
